Appointment of Mr. Musah Ahmed as New Judicial Secretary to the Judicial Service of Ghana

His Excellency the President has approved the appointment of Mr. Musah Ahmed as the new Judicial Secretary to the Judicial Service of Ghana. This decision was made in accordance with Article 148 of the 1992 Constitution and following the advice of the Judicial Council.

Mr. Ahmed was officially sworn in on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, by His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, the Acting Chief Justice. He succeeds Dr. Cyracus B. Bapuuroh, who had been serving as the Deputy Judicial Secretary and acting in the position since April 2025.

The announcement of Mr. Ahmed’s appointment was made through a statement issued today by the Communications Department of the Judicial Service of Ghana. This marks a significant milestone, as Mr. Ahmed becomes the 17th Judicial Secretary since the establishment of the First Republic.

Mr. Ahmed has also served as Vice-Chairman of the Hajj Board and has consistently advocated for the rule of law and institutional development.
